Objectives:

International seminar:
"The engineer in the European Union of knowledge"

At the time of the Lisbon Summit in March 2000, the leaders of the European Union worked out a strategy, based on a consensus between the Member states, to make Europe more dynamic and more competitive in a durable way, while reinforcing social inclusion. This strategy was based on a partnership between the Commission and the Member States.

The objectives of the Lisbon Summit are:
  • to reach an average economic growth of 3%
  • to create employment for 20 million by 2010

Within this context the international seminar wishes to emphasize research, innovation and an entrepreneurial spirit and to demonstrate the role of the engineer in these three fields.

  • The seminar will provide a forum for:

    • the industrial world
    • institutions of higher education
    • the engineering profession
    • individual engineers
    • who have an active interest in the added value of engineers towards the realisation of the Lisbon objectives

The seminar registration fee includes a copy of the proceedings, coffee breaks and closing drink. Dinner on Friday is optional.

    • 100 EUR for members of engineering associations, member of CLAIU-EU
    • 120 EUR for others
    • 25 EUR for students (also for PhD students)
    • Dinner 60 EUR
